2. Ethnic food often is vegetarian or vegan. For example, hummus is a Middle Eastern spread made from chickpeas. Partnered with some slices of pita bread, hummus makes an easy and tasty appetizer.
3. Even desserts can be “veganized” with a few simple substitutions. For example, the Vegan Success Web site has a recipe for Chocolate Zucchini bread, which is almost like the standard recipe, except it uses an egg substitute instead of eggs and soy milk instead of cow’s milk.
Finding vegetarian ingredients is no longer difficult. Although health food stores generally have a wider selection, more grocery stores are carrying vegetarian products like tofu and soy milk than ever before. With a little creativity and planning, it’s easy to provide party food that both vegetarians and non-vegetarians can enjoy.
